Tanabata /Star Festival Resources

Tanabata (Star Festival) is a Japanese festival, held on the 7th July. It celebrates  the meeting of the deities Orihime and Hikoboshi. To support learning through history and cultural celebrations, we have made these Tanabata teaching resources for teachers to use when teaching about Tanabata to children in primary and elementary schools. There are two sets of Tanabata themed page borders with images of stars and Tanabata decorations, both are available in a portrait format and would be very useful for any Tanabata themed literacy activities.  A worksheet is also available to download, with two Tanabata decoration streamers on the sheet for pupils to write on, which is great to help motivate children and keep them busy.
